Profile: Coldean

Coldean, from ‘Cold Dean’ (Dean meaning ‘valley’) is a small, self-contained area in the north of Brighton, between Stanmer and Hollingbury. Its oldest building is an 18th Century flint building which now houses the St Mary Magdalene church. Coldean also has a community centre, a primary school, and a library built in 2008.
