Royal Pavilion becomes subject of new BBC2 history series

The Royal Pavilion is set to be the star of a new BBC2 show that will see Bargain Hunt host Tim Wonnacott and chef Rosemary Shrager retrace the footsteps of a young Queen Victoria.

The monarch was a regular visitor to the Royal Palace during her reign, and now the TV duo will explore the importance of the building to Victoria’s reign in ‘Royal Upstairs, Downstairs’.

Taking its inspiration from the popular BBC1 period drama – resurrected over Christmas – Wonnacott will be based ‘upstairs’, learning about the lavish spending required to keep the Royal Pavilion at its best, while Shrager heads ‘downstairs’ to the kitchens and servants’ quarters to learn how to prepare a feast fit for a Queen.

The series starts at 6.30pm on BBC2 on Monday 7th March.
