Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival: Harvest events

Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival Harvest eventsThis year’s Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival is in full swing – and there are still plenty of scrumptious events to keep those tummy rumbles at bay.

On Saturday 17th September 2011, the annual Harvest picnic in Preston Park will have oodles of local food on sale, cookery demonstrations and tasters, seedbomb workshops – plus some special appearances from local sheep and morris dancers.

A food swap will also be taking place as part of the Preston Park picnic. Last year, more than 30 people traded jams, chutneys, cakes and excess produce. The food swap will be accompanied by a brand new sport: Sussex Cheese Bowling. Roll your cheese for Brighton!

The following Wednesday (21st September 2011), Harvest be hosting their annual food debate. This year’s debate is entitled “Digging Deeper: What’s the future for good food in Brighton & Hove?” Speakers include Green Councillor Bill Randall, Thorne’s Food, Moulsecoomb Primary School, Albion in the Community and Fork & Dig It.

Brighton & Hove Food Festival runs throughout September.
